Kentucky Fried Chicken and Beyond Meat have announced that tomorrow plant-based ‘Beyond Fried Chicken’ will debut during a limited test in Smyrna, Georgia.
Atlantans will get the first taste of Beyond Fried Chicken as part of an exclusive, one restaurant test, on August 27th, at the Cobb Parkway KFC restaurant near SunTrust Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Customers who visit the location at 2637CobbPkwySouthEast can choose between plant-based nuggets, perfect for dipping, or boneless plant-based wings, tossed in their choice of three delicious mouthwatering sauces: Nashville Hot, Buffalo or Honey BBQ.
Those who want to be among the first to taste these revolutionary plant-based nuggets and wings are invited to stop by the Cobb Parkway restaurant for a complimentary sample of Beyond Fried Chicken from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. tomorrow, with a purchase of any KFC menu item, while supplies last.
“KFC Beyond Fried Chicken is so delicious, our customers will find it difficult to tell that it’s plant-based,” Kevin Hochman, President and Chief Concept Officer at KFC U.S., said in a statement. “I think we have all heard ‘it tastes like chicken.’ Our customers are going to be amazed that ‘it tastes like Kentucky Fried Chicken.’
Customer feedback from the Atlanta test will be considered as KFC evaluates a broader test or potential national rollout.
KFC is the first U.S. national quick-service restaurant to be introducing plant-based chicken. It turned to Beyond Meat to create a tasty option that appeals to fans of both Beyond Meat and KFC.
